Article 13: Freedom of expression - Every child must be free to say what they think and to seek and receive all kinds of information, as long as it is within the law.

We are a Unicef Rights Respecting School. The Rights Respecting School Award puts children's rights at the heart of schools in the UK.

We aim to be a safe and inspiring place to learn, where children are respected, their talents and nurtured and they are able to thrive.

The Rights Respecting Schools Award embeds these values in daily school life at Oscott Manor School and gives children the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens.

Safeguarding

Mark Gaynor is our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and we have additional Deputy DSLs whose details are displayed in reception and on the staff page of this website. They are Stuart Evans (Headteacher) and Donna Thomas (Senior Family Support Worker) who along with Mark Gaynor make up our CORE team. Additional staff members are DSL trained and these are:  Alyson Ralphs (Strategic Business Manager), Steve Bailey (Pastoral Manager), Rachael Eddins (Inclusion Lead – SEND), Richard Grant (Inclusion Lead – Behaviour) and Richard Hamilton (KS5 Learning Leader) however the above named CORE Team are the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns or reports.

Should concerns arise about a child we will follow statutory guidance and local procedures set out by Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership and the Birmingham Children's Trust.
